In Association With The Friends of Tipperary Hospital Radio Clonmel CLG
Our station, originally known as South Tipperary General Hospital Radio, was founded in the year 2000 by a dedicated group of hospital staff members and volunteers led by John Savage and Anne Kavanagh. With the support of hospital management, it has been on the air since then, providing entertainment and information to the staff and patients of Tipperary University Hospital.
John Savage co-founded Tipperary Hospital Radio and the Friends of Tipperary University Hospital, raising funds for vital equipment and services. He founded the Friends in 1980 and the radio station in 2000 with Anne Kavanagh. Though no longer station manager, John remains a key figure in the organisation’s continued success.
